- Up to 12 months with potential to extend, pending business and performance requirements.
About the Team
The Procurement and Corporate Services Branch supports various business areas by providing corporate, procurement, and property services. The Procurement team is dedicated to partnering with business units to procure goods and services efficiently, adhering to relevant regulations and policies to ensure value for money outcomes.
About the Role
As an EL1 Procurement and Contracts, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing and managing very complex procurement functions within the organisation.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify upcoming issues and strategic planning needs.
- Serving as a procurement business partner to various business units, developing market approach documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
- Leading an integrated approach to early identification of procurement requirements and supporting planning activities.
- Ensuring procurement activities comply with legislative requirements, Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and organisational policies.
- Providing support and advice regarding compliance with relevant guidelines and frameworks.
- Conducting regular policy and process reviews to drive continuous improvement in procurement practices.
- Effectively managing corporate contracts to ensure value for money outcomes.
About you
To thrive in this role, you need:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management, preferably in a government or corporate setting.
- Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, including Commonwealth Procurement Rules and other relevant guidelines.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
