With a unique approach to Supported Independent Living (SIL). This provider conduct assessments and therapies in a supportive and caring centred way to enable their customers to live as independently as possible at home and in the community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual like you to join our team, who is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in creating their positive futures.
Our team support people in all aspects of their day-to-day living. Providing active, responsive individualized care in our clients' homes on a 24/7 basis.
We are currently seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Wollongong specifically within our Supported Independent Living facilities.
As a valued member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting our individuals with their daily living skills, facilitating social and recreational activities, implementing effective practices for promoting healthier lifestyles and empowering participants to reach their goals.
Training will be provided as necessary to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the job requirements.
Successful applicants must have the following attributes:
- The ability to show initiative and actively support participants in all aspects.
- Experience in working with people with complex behaviours within a framework of Positive Behaviour Support
- Providing direct client support across a range of needs, including complex needs. This support includes personal care, domestic assistance and mealtime assistance.
Requirements and desirable traits
- Qualifications in a field related to disability support.
- Current Certificate in First Aid
- Current NDIS workers clearance
- The ability to work in small teams to create great opportunities for our participants
- An understanding of workplace safety, especially in an outdoor environment
