APS 4 Fraud Investigator

Are you passionate about protecting public resources and contributing to the integrity of nationally significant programs? A Federal Government agency is currently seeking skilled and detail-focused Fraud Investigators (APS4 level) to join its high-performing fraud investigations team.
🕒 Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm)
📅 Term: 12 months, with possible extension
💼 Rate: $43.82/hour + super
About the Role:
You'll be supporting a national taskforce responsible for identifying, investigating, and responding to internal and external fraud. This role involves contributing to fraud case management, policy and process development, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Working within defined parameters, you'll apply your analytical and investigative skills to support ongoing cases and build organisational integrity capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and review of investigation processes and training materials
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to support fraud case outcomes
- Manage and maintain investigation systems and data records
- Provide administrative support across investigation functions
- Use analytical tools and business systems to collate and report findings
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support investigation progress
Essential Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent)
- Relevant experience in fraud investigation, compliance, or regulatory analysis
- Strong administrative and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and investigation-related systems (e.g., iBase, Excel, CRM)
- Must be an Australian Citizen
Desirable:
- Experience supporting policy or procedural development
- Ability to support multiple investigations concurrently
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
