Design Manager (Engineering)

Location: Adelaide CBD (Victoria Square)
Rate: $71.71 per hour (including casual loading), flexible
Capacity: Full Time | Duration: 6 months with immediate start

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the Engineering division of SA Water on a contingent labour contract. This role will act as the Primary Engineering Representative and a multi-disciplinary design leader, providing technical guidance and leadership to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Champion health, safety, and wellbeing by adhering to Safety in Design processes and role modelling safe behaviours.
  
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver consistent and high-quality technical outputs.
  
• Provide effective design solutions, balancing risks, costs, and timelines.
  
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with standards and governance.
  
• Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  
• Support adoption of emerging technologies where beneficial.
  

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.Eng) in a relevant discipline.
  
• Ideally 5+ years' experience in a similar design leadership role.
  
• Strong track record in engineering design, review, and project delivery.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge for optimal outcomes.
  
• Flexible, adaptable, and motivated to work in a dynamic, agile environment.
  
• Experience in preparing technical reports and overseeing the auditing of designs (desirable).
