Planning Support Officer (AO4 Equivalent)

We are seeking two Planning Support Officers to support large-scale aerial treatment operations across approximately 106,000 hectares within the designated operational area. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of mapping, data management, and operational planning to enable successful treatment outcomes.
- Located in Berrinba, QLD
- AO4 Equivelant rate, $59 + per hour + super
- Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week
- Short term casual labour hire assignment with the possibility of extension.
About the Role
You will provide accurate GIS mapping, manage complex datasets, and contribute to the planning and delivery of aerial operations. Your expertise will help maintain high operational standards and support the ongoing success of this important program.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and provide detailed GIS maps and spatial information to support aerial treatment using remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) and helicopters.
- Apply specialist geospatial knowledge to support operational activities and interpret complex datasets.
- Assist with planning by mapping consented properties and defining work boundaries.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance measures and program documentation.
- Support the review and updating of operational procedures and protocols.
- Monitor and maintain data accuracy and integrity according to department standards.
- Manage competing priorities and workflow independently.
- Mentor and train new or junior team members.
- Participate in system testing and provide feedback to improve operational processes.
- Deliver excellent customer and stakeholder service through effective communication and database management.
- Extract and collate reports and data to support management decision-making.
- Other duties as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS software, including practical application of geospatial data.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to manage large and complex datasets with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Previous experience in customer service or operations administration is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide mentoring support.
