HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS 4 or 5 level Graduate Analyst on behalf of our client, located in BARTON Canberra, ACT.
About the Role
In this role, you will apply your analytical skills and recent academic knowledge to support critical security operations. You will work closely with senior staff and stakeholders to interpret data, produce insightful reports, and contribute to data governance improvements. Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing open-source and sensitive data feeds to identify patterns, trends, and potential threats
- Preparing, enhancing, and visualising data to communicate findings to senior decision-makers
- Developing and managing reporting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Engaging with stakeholders to improve analytic and assessment processes
- Supporting change initiatives related to data governance and security operations
- Drafting and presenting material to strengthen analytic capabilities

About You
We're seeking recent graduates with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for data-driven problem solving. You will have:
- A degree in Information Technology, Security Studies, Business, Commerce, or related field
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to present complex information in an accessible way
- Australian citizenship with NV2 clearance or the ability to obtain one
Desirable skills include:
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, and/or Python
- Knowledge of analytical or programming tools (e.g., Splunk, Ruby)
- Experience in or with the Federal Government
- Understanding of MS Visio, HyperTerminal, and IP networks
Please note you do need to be an AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN for this Federal Government role.
This is a security designated position, and you will be required to hold a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance prior to commencement.
