HOBAN Recruitment is seeking multiple APS6 Data and Reporting Officers to join a federal government agency located in SURRY HILLS NSW. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to policy, pricing and market insights that directly impact the lives of Australians.
About the Role
As an APS 6 level Data and Reporting Officer, you will play a key role in delivering analytical and reporting work to support economic and pricing policy, as well as market monitoring activities. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide evidence-based insights that inform decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, designing, and deploying scalable data, statistical and mathematical models
- Developing and delivering regular and ad-hoc reports to support policy and decision-making
- Building and maintaining dashboards to track pricing and market performance
- Collecting, analysing, and presenting data in ways that inform strategy and policy
- Engaging with stakeholders to support project delivery and data integration
- Supporting ongoing data transformation processes and participating in data forums

About You
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about data and able to translate insights into action.
To succeed, you will have:
- Strong technical and analytical skills with a quantitative mindset
- Experience working with large datasets and data warehouses
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, Excel, SAS/SQL
- Ability to synthesise and present complex data clearly to non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Desirable:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in statistical modelling and forecasting
Eligibility
- You must be an Australian Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Criminal History Check and a Worker Screening Check is required
