APS 6 Level Data Analyst

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS 6 Level Data Analyst on behalf of our client, located in Barton, Canberra, ACT.

About the Role

Join a specialised team that values innovation and creativity in data. You'll have the chance to explore key trends, build compelling data products, and influence decision-making at the highest levels.

Key responsibilities include:

• Researching and building data products on key regional indicators.
• Collecting, wrangling, cleaning, and visualising data for strategic use.
• Creating dashboards and visuals in PowerBI and Excel.
• Using Python/R, SQL and other tools for in-depth analysis.
• Communicating complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Providing data-driven advice to support Southeast Asia-focused policies.

About You

We're looking for a curious, detail-oriented analyst who is eager to turn data into real-world impact.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

• Have strong skills across the full data analytics lifecycle (ETL, wrangling, visualisation).
• Are proficient in PowerBI and Excel, with experience in Python or R, and SQL.
• Can clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Enjoy problem-solving and working collaboratively to deliver policy-relevant insights.
• Bring a background in data roles - a relevant degree is preferred but not essential.
• AGSVA NV1 or Higher, NV2 minimum preferred
