HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS6 Data Analyst on behalf of our client, located in Newcastle, NSW.
About the Role
As an APS6 Data Analyst, you will provide high-quality data analysis, reporting, and workforce insights to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement. This role involves leading a team, managing priorities, and contributing to projects that enhance organisational performance. You will deliver data visualisations, dashboards, and reports that influence workforce planning and business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering advanced data analysis, dashboards, reports, and visualisations.
- Leading workforce planning activities and contributing to forecasting models.
- Coordinating stakeholder engagement with internal teams and external consultants.
- Managing workflows, priorities, and outputs to align with agency objectives.
- Applying advanced data-driven and numerical methods to resolve complex issues.
- Supporting organisational change by managing stakeholder relationships and negotiations.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting, or workforce planning.
- Strong skills in data visualisation, with Power Query experience highly regarded.
- Leadership capability to manage teams, workflows, and priorities.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and innovate.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of disability, health, or allied health sectors - desirable.
- Experience in Microsoft Office and analytics software tools.
You must be an Australian Citizen to work for federal government.
