About the Role
As the EL1 Assistant Director Reform Communications, you will take a leadership role in overseeing communications strategies for the reform. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading strategic communications plans to inform key internal and external stakeholders about changes.
- Managing a team of direct reports and contractors to deliver high-quality communication products on time.
- Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships to advance interests and ensure seamless communication across all platforms.
- Collaborating with internal teams to integrate marketing, communication, and advocacy efforts for consistent messaging across the organisation.
- Delivering key reform communications and collateral across multiple channels, applying insights and data to optimise strategies.
- Providing leadership to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards in communication practices.
- Developing and implementing change communication strategies that inform stakeholders about the impact of Scheme reforms.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in strategic communications, ideally within a government or large-scale reform environment.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing a team, setting performance expectations, and coaching staff to achieve success.
- In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and communication campaigns, including data-driven optimisation and insights.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the organisation at key forums and meetings.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages for diverse audiences.
- Experience in risk management and decision-making within a complex, regulatory environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within a government agency, preferably in disability services or healthcare.
- Familiarity with the organisation and its reform processes.
- Knowledge of contemporary communication channels, digital solutions, and social media strategies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to lead communications through change and uncertainty.
