About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced APS5 Network Administrator to join the ICT Services Branch of a federal government agency. This role plays a key part in managing and maintaining critical network infrastructure, supporting both staff and partners to deliver frontline services across Australia. Working within the Technical Services Division, you will provide hands-on support for LAN/WAN infrastructure, ensure high network performance, and play an integral role in resolving technical issues. The position involves direct engagement with internal and external stakeholders and supports ongoing change and network enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely technical assistance and resolve agency network issues
• Manage and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including network configurations
• Monitor network performance, identify issues proactively, and escalate where required
• Execute network upgrades and expansions aligned with technological advancements
• Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Support and implement change management processes
• Work collaboratively with external ICT providers and internal teams
• Identify gaps in network security practices and escalate or address them accordingly

About You
Key Skills & Attributes:

• Experience in enterprise network administration, including support, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Strong working knowledge of networking hardware and protocols
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities under limited supervision
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical information
• Excellent written skills, including the ability to produce and maintain technical documentation

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

• Fortinet NSE 4 or higher certification
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and practices

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
