About the Role
A federal government agency is seeking a skilled and motivated EL1 Assistant Domain Owner to provide strategic leadership in the design and delivery of digital services. This role plays a key part in shaping high-quality, accessible user experiences across multiple service platforms by collaborating with product owners, technical specialists, and senior leaders.
Working within a dynamic, user-centred service design team, the successful candidate will guide digital innovation that supports frontline delivery and improves outcomes for diverse user groups. The position also involves team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional problem solving in a complex digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee data and analytics needs for digital product development across participant and provider services
- Coordinate production and support of digital tools, ensuring functionality, usability, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders through design, build, and operational phases
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Business Analysts and promote a continuous improvement culture
- Analyse user feedback, accessibility needs and service gaps to guide service enhancements
- Work closely with senior leadership to identify, prioritise and resolve service delivery issues
- Manage planning, performance, risk and resources in alignment with agency objectives
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills within a fast-paced digital or service delivery environment
- Proven experience in user-centred service design and digital product development
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex digital transformation projects
- High-level stakeholder engagement skills, including with internal leadership and external service users
- Advanced problem-solving capability, especially relating to digital service improvements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislative, risk, and policy frameworks within a federal agency context

- Demonstrated experience in digital leadership, service design, or transformation roles
