Our client, a Federal Government Agency is seeking an experienced EL1-level Scrum Master to lead and coordinate agile project teams working to enhance participant experiences and outcomes through digital transformation.

- Rate: EL1 Equivalent + Superannuation

About the Role
As Scrum Master, you will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, coaching team members in agile and project methodologies, and driving delivery across critical service design initiatives. You will work closely with product owners, domain leads, and delivery teams to shape project timelines, track deliverables, and foster a high-performing team culture. This role sits within a division focused on strategic service improvement and innovation, with a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project scope, timelines, and sprint planning in line with agile and hybrid (agile/waterfall) methodologies
- Coordinate ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and feature reviews
- Use project management tools to track deliverables, dependencies, and progress across teams
- Maintain and update RAID logs, escalating risks and issues where necessary
- Work with Domain Owners to plan resources and allocate capability to high-priority features
- Mentor and coach teams to improve delivery maturity and adherence to agile principles
- Partner with stakeholders to develop and maintain product backlogs
- Support governance processes and ensure alignment with agency frameworks
About You - Key Skills & Capabilities
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager in a government or enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of agile and waterfall project methodologies and when to apply each
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to coach and support high-performing teams to increase delivery capability
- Strong organisational and documentation skills with an eye for detail
- Comfortable managing complexity and competing priorities in a large-scale program setting
Desirable
- Experience in service design, digital transformation, or participant-focused delivery
- Familiarity with government reporting, governance, and compliance requirements
