About the Role
A Federal Government Agency is seeking an experienced EL1 Service Designer - Digital Marketing to lead a significant project aimed at improving the accessibility, timeliness, and effectiveness of the agency's digital communications, including email and SMS. This role will lead the redesign of digital marketing service delivery to enhance the experience of diverse user groups, ensuring communications are user-centred, consistent, and impactful.
Working collaboratively across stakeholder groups, the Service Designer will scope and map the agency's digital communication ecosystem, identifying opportunities for service and process improvements that align with the agency's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a program of work to improve digital marketing services, with a focus on accessibility, impact, and user experience
- Document and map current-state services using service design blueprints and design-thinking methodologies
- Identify pain points and service gaps across digital communication touchpoints and participant pathways
- Facilitate and lead co-design and ideation workshops with service users and internal stakeholders
- Apply research insights to inform and test future-state experiences and service improvements
- Drive consistency, quality, and accessibility across the agency's digital marketing channels
- Evaluate and implement service design solutions at both conceptual and operational levels
- Champion the voice of users and contribute to inclusive, data-informed decision-making
About You - Key Skills & Capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership in service or process design in complex, high-volume environments
- Strong experience in digital marketing platform design - including apps, CRM, websites or SMS/email tools
- Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, plan work programs, and deliver strategic outcomes
- High-level analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Strong understanding of digital service delivery in a government or regulated environment
Desirable
- Extensive experience in service/process design, preferably within a government or regulated setting
- Experience designing for accessibility and inclusion across diverse user bases
- Familiarity with CX design principles, agile delivery environments, and digital transformation initiatives
Mandatory Requirements
- Australian citizenship required
