About the Role
A Federal Government Agency is looking for an APS4 Budget Management Support Planner to contribute to the delivery of budget planning initiatives supporting participants to manage their funded plans effectively. This role sits within a branch leading service delivery reform and transition projects and will focus on identifying budget risks, promoting financial sustainability, and supporting participant success.
This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with a focus on service improvement and data-informed decision making. Working within a dynamic team, you will apply established policy and procedure to assist participants, interpret data insights, and support positive outcomes through proactive engagement and record keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess participant records to identify overspending risks and apply appropriate funding decisions
- Engage with participants and their representatives via phone to understand current spending patterns and provide guidance
- Accurately document interactions and maintain records in internal systems
- Contribute to case management activities and review moderately complex decisions
- Deliver high-quality administrative support and data entry
- Assist in meeting key team KPIs and planning targets
- Support the delivery of national service reform initiatives through effective budget management practices
About You - Key Skills & Capabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build rapport over the phone
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to interpret guidelines, apply policy, and manage sensitive information
- Comfort working in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
- Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work under general supervision
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and client record management systems
Desirable
- Experience working in a government or regulated service delivery setting
- Understanding of the disability, human services or social support sector
- Familiarity with casework, planning or participant-facing services
Mandatory Requirements
- Australian Citizenship required
- Pre-engagement security screening will be conducted
