Local City Council is seeking an Asset Maintenance Officer to deliver operational and planned maintenance services across a broad range of council buildings and facilities, ensuring assets are functional and service levels are consistently maintained.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Facilities Officer, the Asset Maintenance Officer will deliver operational and planned maintenance services across council-wide buildings and facilities. The role involves conducting maintenance assessments, supporting scheduled corrective works, and managing contracted services to ensure safe, effective, and customer-focused outcomes. The position may also participate in an on-call roster for after-hours support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver day-to-day operational maintenance across council buildings and facilities.
- Support scheduled corrective maintenance works and inspections.
- Conduct maintenance assessments to inform capital and operational projects.
- Identify, procure, and oversee contracted maintenance services, monitoring safety and performance.
- Undertake assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and with a customer focused approach.
- Participate in an on call roster for after hours building and facility support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support operational outcomes.
- Undertake additional duties as directed within scope and capability.
- Other duties as required
Mandatory Requirements:
- Trade qualification in a relevant building, mechanical, or electrical trade with at least 2 years post-apprenticeship experience.
- Current C-class driver's licence.
- Construction Induction Card (within the past 2 years).
- Experience delivering operational maintenance services in fast-paced, customer-focused environments.
- Strong stakeholder liaison and communication skills.
- Functional proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
- Full Australian working rights.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience managing contracted maintenance service providers.
- Knowledge of Local Government asset management and maintenance practices.
- Previous on-call or after-hours maintenance experience.
