Are you an experienced training coordinator with a passion for delivering culturally safe programs that strengthen workforce capability? Our client, a Federal Government agency, is seeking an APS5 Training Coordinator to coordinate and support the delivery of culturally safe training programs that build workforce capability and improve outcomes for First Nations people with disability.

About the Role:
Reporting to an Assistant Director, the APS5 Training Coordinator will coordinate logistics and support the delivery of training sessions, workshops, and learning events that are culturally safe, trauma-aware, and aligned with adult learning principles. This position will work closely with First Nations stakeholders, internal teams, and external providers to ensure training reflects lived experience and community perspectives, while contributing to the agency's broader workforce development priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate logistics for training delivery, including scheduling, venue booking, participant communications, and resource preparation
- Support the facilitation of training sessions, ensuring culturally safe and inclusive practices
- Assist in the development and refinement of training materials, including participant guides, facilitator notes, and digital content
- Collaborate with First Nations stakeholders and internal teams to ensure training reflects cultural knowledge and community perspectives
- Monitor attendance, feedback, and evaluation data to support reporting and continuous improvement
- Maintain records of training activities and contribute to reporting for senior leadership
- Support the wellbeing of staff through inclusive learning environments and trauma-informed practices
- Assist in coordinating external training providers, ensuring quality and cultural appropriateness of services
- Contribute to embedding cultural safety and inclusive practices into workforce capability initiatives
- Represent the section in relevant meetings and forums, supporting cultural safety and workforce development priorities
- Other duties as required
Mandatory Requirements:
- Australian citizenship is required to be considered
- Demonstrated experience in training coordination, facilitation, and adult learning
- Strong understanding of cultural safety and First Nations perspectives
- Ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt facilitation style to different contexts
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities
- Relevant qualifications in education, training, HR, or related field (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment highly desirable)
- Experience working in or with First Nations communities is highly regarded
