A Queensland state government agency is seeking a Senior Project Officer to support a large scale environmental treatment and surveillance program, driving the delivery of aerial operations and landholder engagement activities across high priority regions.

- Rate: $78.02 p/h + Superannuation
About the Role:
Reporting to the Principal Project Officer, the Senior Project Officer will coordinate and deliver an aerial treatment project as part of a major biosecurity and pest management initiative. The role involves planning, delivering, and evaluating large scale field operations, utilising ArcGIS for spatial analysis, engaging with government agencies and landholders, and ensuring data and reporting integrity. This position suits a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic operational environment and is committed to achieving results that protect Queensland's environment and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply project management skills to plan, deliver, and evaluate a large scale aerial treatment project.
- Use proficient ArcGIS and geospatial analysis skills to process and present project information effectively.
- Support operational teams through effective leadership, coordination, and communication.
- Engage with government agencies, large landholders, and other stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and obtain necessary consents.
- Provide technical advice to landholders on treatment, surveillance, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate data collection, storage, and analysis processes using departmental systems to ensure sound governance and accurate reporting.
- Represent the agency at workshops, meetings, and community engagement events.
- Contribute to a collaborative, solution focused team culture that drives efficiency and innovation in a fast paced environment.
- Undertake other duties as required, including occasional weekend work.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Current C-class driver's licence.
- Experience in project coordination, preferably in environmental management, biosecurity, or large scale field operations.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS or similar geospatial analysis software.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience working with landholders or community stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety, compliance, and data integrity.
- Full Australian working rights.
Desirable Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, geography, project management, or a related field.
- Experience working in government or delivering large scale operational projects.
- Knowledge of biosecurity, pest management, or environmental surveillance programs.
