Strategic Procurement Officer (Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain)
This Procurement Officer role focuses on managing Council's tendering, contract administration, and procurement processes to ensure compliance, efficiency, and strategic sourcing. Core responsibilities include developing tender and contract documentation, coordinating evaluations, maintaining supplier records, and providing training in procurement systems. The role also involves overseeing procurement activities to secure competitive and high-quality contracts while minimizing risks.
The position requires specialized knowledge in procurement best practices, contract management, and legislative frameworks. Strong probity management, expertise in tendering processes, and proficiency in information systems supporting strategic procurement are essential. Analytical skills for data interpretation, planning and project management abilities, and a commitment to streamlining processes to improve business operations are also key.
Selection for the role is based on extensive experience in contract administration, particularly in developing specifications, managing tender processes, evaluating tenders, and ensuring probity compliance. Proficiency in contract management systems (preferably Open Windows Contract Management) and the ability to provide legislative advice are crucial. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are required to navigate complex contractual arrangements.
A relevant degree or diploma in Business Management, Accounting, Commerce, Contract Management, or Business Law-or extensive experience in the field-is expected.
