APS 6 Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly capable APS6 Data Analyst to join a dynamic and purpose-driven team focused on integrity, transformation, and fraud prevention. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful outcomes through advanced analytics, stakeholder engagement, and strategic insight.
About the Role
As an APS6 Data Analyst, you will work under limited direction to deliver complex analytical work that supports the detection and prevention of fraud and non-compliance. You'll lead data-driven initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to the development of intelligence products that inform operational and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract and produce data, statistics, and reports using SAS and SQL.
- Develop and deliver data visualisations and dashboards using SAS Visual Analytics (VA).
- Support project delivery by preparing consistent, accurate, and timely scheduled and ad hoc data requests.
- Interpret data to support operational reporting and decision-making.
- Engage and manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area goals.
- Provide technical expertise across a range of programs, anticipating problems and contributing to issues management.
- Support the development and implementation of detection profiles, including requirements gathering, testing, training, and rollout.
- Respond to enquiries and manage service desk tickets as required.
Desirable Skills
- A strong understanding of machine learning and statistical concepts is highly regarded.
