Are you a detail-oriented investigator with a passion for integrity, fraud prevention, and public service? A Federal Government agency is seeking an APS4 Fraud Investigator to join a high-performing national taskforce, focused on identifying, analysing, and preventing fraudulent activity across complex government systems.

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-impact investigations into internal and external fraud. As part of the Fraud Investigations Branch, you will work within a collaborative and multi-agency environment to uphold public trust and safeguard government programs. Your work will involve intelligence gathering, data analysis, supporting investigations, and enhancing branch capability through process and policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and refinement of investigative processes and training materials
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends and patterns in potential fraudulent activity
- Provide operational and administrative assistance to investigation teams and strategic coordination units
- Work with intelligence databases and software tools such as Excel, iBase, Altia, and CRM systems
- Contribute to the preparation of case briefs, reports, and stakeholder communications
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support the resolution of moderately complex issues
- Assist forensic and financial specialists in analysing evidence and information
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and integrity frameworks
- Other duties as required
Mandatory Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent (as per PSP04 Public Services Training Package)
- Demonstrated experience in investigations, intelligence, compliance, or fraud detection
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret data and draft clear findings
- High-level attention to detail and experience using analytical tools and reporting systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to pass and maintain security clearances
- You must be an Australian Citizen to be considered for this position
