A Local City Council in Queensland is seeking an Administration Officer to provide high-quality administrative support and customer service within the Parks & Gardens Branch.

- Rate: $41.95 p/h + Superannuation
About the Role:
Reporting to the Business Development Officer, the Administration Officer will play a key role in providing professional administrative support to the teams. The position involves supporting multiple teams across Parks Operations and Arboriculture, maintaining accurate records, assisting with correspondence and reporting, and ensuring efficient workflow across Council systems. This role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative and motivated team in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional, customer focused service to internal and external stakeholders in line with Council policies and procedures.
- Input, search, and retrieve information using Council's corporate systems, databases, and applications.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support the preparation of correspondence, forms, and standard documents in accordance with Council procedures.
- Maintain electronic records and data in line with Council's Records Management Policy.
- Provide support for HR and administrative processes, including timesheet approvals, recruitment processes, and training where required.
- Assist with financial administration tasks such as receipting, invoicing, and reporting where required.
- Support technology device setup, ordering, and troubleshooting for team members.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including updating systems, procedures, and practices to enhance service delivery.
- Backfill other administration roles within the branch to support operational continuity.
- Participate in team meetings and workplace health and safety initiatives, contributing to a safe and positive work environment.
- Undertake other relevant duties as required.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Previous experience in administration, records management, or customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to manage data accurately and maintain compliance with Council policies and procedures.
- Strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Full Australian working rights.
- "C" Class driver's licence.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in local government or Parks & Gardens administration.
- Qualifications in business administration, governance, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with corporate systems such as SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and electronic document and records management systems (EDRMS).
