APS6 Risk Advisor

Are you passionate about risk management and looking to make a meaningful impact in the public sector? We're seeking an experienced Risk Advisor to join a high-performing team supporting the delivery of a nationally significant initiative.
About the Role
As an APS6 Risk Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting operational and strategic risk management across a large and complex service delivery environment. You'll work under limited direction, applying your expertise to guide risk owners, analyse trends, and contribute to the development of risk treatment plans and reporting.
This is a dynamic role requiring initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy, and frameworks to achieve outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate risk discussions and reviews with stakeholders.
- Analyse risk trends and develop treatment plans.
- Deliver risk management training and build capability across teams.
- Maintain relationships with internal assurance teams to manage shared risks.
- Support risk reporting and provide insights to leadership.
- Administer the Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS).
About You
You're a proactive and analytical professional with:
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and frameworks.
- Experience in policy, operational support, or project management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
