Key Responsibilities
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with public health regulations, including food premises and wastewater systems.
Investigate, interview, and report on infectious disease notifications and outbreaks as per Department of Health protocols.
Assess environmental complaints and advise on noise, dust, odour, and sanitation issues.
Develop and implement health education programs, workshops, and policy recommendations.
Maintain accurate reports and records in accordance with guidelines.
Liaise with government authorities, business owners, and community members on environmental and health matters.
Support emergency management and crisis response initiatives, including pandemic preparedness.
About You
Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.
Previous experience in environmental health, food safety, infectious disease investigation, or public health regulations.
Strong knowledge of Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Act, Food Act, and Environment Protection Act.
Ability to interpret legislation and implement health and safety policies effectively.
Membership or eligibility for Environmental Health Professionals Australia.
