Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with public health regulations, including food premises and wastewater systems.

• Investigate, interview, and report on infectious disease notifications and outbreaks as per Department of Health protocols.

• Assess environmental complaints and advise on noise, dust, odour, and sanitation issues.

• Develop and implement health education programs, workshops, and policy recommendations.

• Maintain accurate reports and records in accordance with guidelines.

• Liaise with government authorities, business owners, and community members on environmental and health matters.

• Support emergency management and crisis response initiatives, including pandemic preparedness.

About You

• Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.

• Previous experience in environmental health, food safety, infectious disease investigation, or public health regulations.

• Strong knowledge of Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Act, Food Act, and Environment Protection Act.

• Ability to interpret legislation and implement health and safety policies effectively.

• Membership or eligibility for Environmental Health Professionals Australia.

• Police Check

• Working with Children Check

• Australian Driver licence
