This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a flexible hybrid work environment in the heart of Sydney. Candidates with experience in import/export or the food industry will be highly regarded. However, we also welcome applications from candidates without logistics experience but who have professional work experience in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
- Support shipment coordination between head office/group companies and suppliers
- Handle payment arrangements
- Prepare documentation for:
- Sales and purchase contracts
- Invoices
- Financial and other relevant documents
- Issuing slips
- Complete shipping requirements
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and freight forwarders to manage import/export processes
- Organise and maintain filing systems (both digital and physical)
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare credit limit applications and renewals
- Monitor customer credit limit balances
- Arrange domestic and international couriers
- Organise business travel, including hotel bookings and transportation
- Process expense reimbursements (for Manager, GM, and expatriates)
Selection Criteria
- Proficiency in Japanese language
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented and customer-focused approach with a strong sense of accountability
- High attention to detail and adaptability to change
- Previous experience as a Trade Assistant or in the food industry is a plus
Preferred but Not Essential
- Experience in food trade operations, particularly with beef products
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
