Financial Accountant

Are you a skilled accountant with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy? We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Yatala. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, high-performing environment while supporting key financial operations and reporting obligations.

• Located in Yatala, QLD
• Hybrid 3 days working from home 2 days in office
• Starting ASAP, as a casual labor hire
• $400 + per day + super

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing month-end working papers, journals, and financial reports.
• Conducting trust account reconciliations and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Assisting with inventory accounting, accruals, prepaids, and recoverable expenses.
• Reconciling sales and expense accounts and proposing journal entries as needed.
• Lodging tax returns and ABS surveys (FBT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, GST).
• Supporting internal and external audits, including SOX controls testing.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to implement process improvements.
• Other duties as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Accounting degree with CA or CPA designation.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in public practice or a financial accountant role.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups) and proficiency in MS Office. Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) is highly regarded.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle a high volume of work and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
