Health and Safety Business Partner

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Health & Safety Business Partner for a full-time contract role commencing 11 August 2025 for 6 months. Based in Adelaide CBD (Victoria Square), you will support senior leaders and oversee safety outcomes across the Berry and Mount Gambier regions, managing a small team and ensuring strategic and operational health and safety goals are met.

Assignment Duration: 6 months from 11 August 2025
Capacity: Full-time, including regional travel
Daily Rate: $630 incl. casual loading (based on a salary of $131k) - negotiable
Key responsibilities
Lead and support safety planning and implementation across regional operations
Provide expert WHS guidance and support to senior managers and operational teams
Develop, communicate and implement effective risk management strategies
Support and monitor incident investigations, internal audits and site inspections
Coach and empower leaders and team members in building a strong safety culture
Partner with regional workshops and attend on-site as required
Manage and mentor two direct reports (Operations and Maintenance Safety Coordinators)
Support compliance with WHS legislation and internal frameworks
About you
You are a capable safety leader with a passion for continuous improvement and practical safety outcomes. Your stakeholder engagement skills are as strong as your technical expertise, and you're confident managing teams and safety initiatives across diverse work environments.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety (WHS) or equivalent
Minimum 3 years' experience in WHS risk management in complex, multi-site operations
Management system audit training and experience
Proven experience managing or mentoring teams
Strong interpersonal, influencing and business partnering skills
Excellent working knowledge of WHS legislation
Experience in utilities, infrastructure or government settings highly regarded
Current driver's licence and ability to travel to regional workshops as required
