Executive Officer (AO6 Equivalent)

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised AO6 Executive Officer to support a senior government legal executive and manage the operations of their office. This part-time opportunity offers meaningful and high-impact work in a professional and fast-paced environment.
- Located in Brisbane CBD, QLD
- AO6 Queensland Government rate - $66 + p/h + super
- Part-Time (1 day/week - Monday or Thursday)
- Short term casual labour hire assignment with the possibility of extension.
About the Role
In this role, you will provide high-level confidential executive and administrative support, acting as the key point of coordination for meetings, reporting, stakeholder communications, and executive workflow management. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of government, ensuring smooth and professional operations within the office.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prioritise and manage meetings, correspondence, and diary coordination
- Prepare agendas, take minutes, and provide full administrative support for meetings and conferences
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including routine replies
- Coordinate briefing notes, parliamentary questions (QONs, PPQs), and legal document tracking
- Liaise with senior government stakeholders including Ministers, Directors-General, Members of Parliament, and the Judiciary
- Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements and official events
- Maintain confidentiality and securely handle sensitive physical and electronic material
- Monitor relevant media and current affairs
- Manage Right to Information (RTI) and Privacy Unit search requests
- Develop and maintain internal guidelines, templates, and correspondence systems
- Contribute to public relations and research projects as required
- Act as the first point of contact for the executive office and model high client service standards
- Other duties as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a senior executive assistant or executive officer role within government or legal settings
- Exceptional organisational and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- A high level of professionalism, discretion, and initiative
- Familiarity with parliamentary processes, RTI management, and executive-level reporting (highly regarded)
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
