Animal Management Officer
Location: Regional VIC

General Duties:
- Investigate dog attacks, including taking statements and conducting records of interview
- Patrol off-leash areas and dog parks to monitor compliance
- Follow up on dog and cat registration, and ensure proper containment of animals
- Collect stray, roaming, or seized animals as required
- Respond to livestock on roads and other livestock-related matters
- Carry out enforcement and compliance under the Impounding of Livestock Act 1994
- Handle animal releases to owners, including checks and documentation
- Conduct community education on responsible pet ownership
- Issue Infringement Notices using the PinForce system
- Inspect properties for Additional Animal Permit applications
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and Impounding of Livestock Act 1994
- Experience in animal handling, particularly dogs
- Strong communication and investigation skills
- Ability to interact confidently with the public and manage conflict if required
- Experience using PinForce is preferred
- Ideally available to be part of the on-call after-hours roster on an as-needed basis
