Are you a skilled service designer, passionate about improving public services and enhancing participant experiences? A Federal Government agency is seeking a proactive and collaborative Service Designer to join the Participant Experience Design team. This role offers the opportunity to co-design innovative service improvements that make a real difference to people's lives.

About the Role:
Working within a dynamic team, you will apply design thinking and research to co-create end-to-end service improvements that align with the Digital Service Standard. You will lead collaborative workshops, advocate for participant and stakeholder voices, and contribute to the development of seamless, accessible, and user-centred services. This position requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, technical knowledge of service design methodologies, and the ability to translate complex policy and operational requirements into practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify insights to enhance understanding of participant and staff experiences.
- Co-create and document current state service journeys and business processes.
- Facilitate design-thinking sessions with participants and stakeholders to develop future service solutions.
- Advocate for participant-centred outcomes throughout service design and improvement activities.
- Ensure service improvements comply with the Digital Service Standard and deliver consistent user experiences across channels.
- Assist management in strategic planning, project coordination, and the use of business tools.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery excellence.
- Other duties as required.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Demonstrated experience in service design, user research, or a related field.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, including experience with co-design and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency with digital service design tools and methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Willingness and ability to pass criminal history screening.
