A Queensland State Government agency is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Student Engineer (Civil) to join its South Coast Project Planning and Management team. This hands-on opportunity supports traffic and road safety initiatives that enhance community safety and reduce congestion across a high-growth region.

About the Role:
Working under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, the Student Engineer will contribute to the planning, investigation, and delivery of transport infrastructure projects with a focus on traffic engineering and road safety. The role supports the assessment of safety issues, the design of improvement strategies, and the preparation of technical documentation to support state-wide programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate, analyse and review traffic and road safety issues across the state-controlled road network.
- Support delivery of the Road Safety Minor Works program and related safety treatment projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals for the Mass Action Plans, Safer Roads Sooner, and Black Spot programs.
- Provide technical advice and assistance relating to signage, line marking, and traffic investigations.
- Draft technical reports and correspondence, including responses to community and Ministerial enquiries.
- Apply relevant legislation, policies, standards and guidelines to ensure project compliance and safety.
- Other duties as required
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must have full working rights
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or an approved dual-degree equivalent.
- Current Class C driver's licence.
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
- Ability to provide suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Willingness to undergo a criminal history screening.
